Exchange ActiveSync Error
We've had a couple instances where users can have Outlook open, receive e-mail, but are unable to open the e-mail. Our e-mail server is Exchange 2003 SP2. Checking the event logs found the following information:
Event Source: Server ActiveSync
Event ID; 3005
Description: Unexpected Exchange mailbox Server error: Server [server name] User: [user name] HTTP status code: [500]. Verify that the Exchange mailbox Server is working correctly.
A system restart clears the problem.
If I click on the event log link it takes me to Microsoft's website with additional information on the error. Reading through this information, it appears to be an issue with our mobile device users. This makes sense as the error message appears multiple times in the event log, each with a different user name, and these users have Window OS Palm Treo phones.
Knowldege Base aricle 883380 is referenced as a solution to the problem. My question is, if I follow the directions in Method 1 of KB883380 do I need to delete all the virtual directories or can I just delete the Microsoft-Server_ActiveSync and OMA virtual directories?
Any information provided is appreciated.
Thanks.

I recommend you use Method 1 and delete all virtual directories specified in step3.
