Exchange Admin Tools
I will have to agree with just about every single post that I have read on this forum. If MS is going to put out an operating system for the business community to use, then why in the world do they not make the previous versions of the tools work on the operating system. I managed to get the 2003 admin pak working after much research and following the instructions for registering the DLL's. But you should never have to do that in the first place. I then go to get the Exchange 2003 Management tools installed, and it's not able to find the IIS 6.0 Snap-in's. Even though I have installed and configured IIS 7.0 with the 6.0 compatibility. It still doesn't install. I've seen the post for pulling the first 6 DLL's from the Exchange\BIN directory but I haven't had a chance to even experiment with it. From the looks of the other posts it seems to be working. But yet again, this proves my point that we have to go about hacking our way through a NEEDED utility in order to get it working. I've restorted to keeping 2 PC's at my desk. A desktop with Vista Business installed and my Laptop with XP pro for when I get to frustrated with Vista to continue working in it.
One question about the Exhange DLL trick. If you don't have the management tools installed and can't get them installed will registering these DLL's allow me to get it installed and up and running? Maybe it seems like a dumb question but after all my frustration with this operating system I just want to be sure.
