Exchange CCR Database will not mount
We have a pure Exchange 2007 implementation. We are trying to install Exchange 2007 in a CCR under Hyper-V.
We have the Cluster defined. We have the Quorum share defined based upon the technet instructions. The net share with permissions have also been done per the instructions.
We install the Active node with E2K7. The E2K7 server portion of the install fails with not being able to create and mount the Mailbox DB.
The Event viewer indicate that it is possibly due to an AD permission problem in defining the Storage group path.
I can access the Store and see the DB in the First Storage Group in Exchange Console, but the actual DB file is not created.
I have tried to remove and re-create the mailbox DB.
We get the following errors.
Any help is appreciated.
Doug

If your install fails during the installation regardless you will definitely have a problem. I suggest to uninstall e2k7 and reinstall it again.

Hi Doug,
Run below command and check the edb file path is correctly available and exists.
Get-MailboxDatabase Database Name | FL Identity, EdbFilePath
Additionally check below KB if it matches the event ids in your case.
Event ID 9519 "Error 0x80004005" is logged in the Application log when you try to mount a database in Exchange Server 2007
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/925825
You may alsorun FileMon and try to mount the database and check the FileMon log for any access denied error while accessing file/folder by any account.
FileMon for Windows v7.04

Issue description: After create new database in the storage group, it cant be mounted on the CCR
Possible cause: Permissions have not been applied properly
Known resolution:
a. Launch ADSIEditor, expand Configuration Container->CN=Configuration, DC= Domain_Name ,DC=com->CN=Services ->CN=Microsoft Exchange->CN= Your_Organization_Name
b. Removed SELF from the Organization object all the way down to the store
c. Check the issue, if the issue still persisted, go on
d. Please try method 1 in the KB 925825 which Amit provided
e. Check issue again
Troubleshooting:
1. DB file still not generated currently, is it correct?
2. Run a health check on the server with ExBPA to look for more error info
3. Please reproduce the issue, is there any error info occurred in the application log
4. Whether the error info in the EMS same as in the EMC, if not, please post here for analysis
Notes: Mount-database MalibuEXCLDB1 [We dont need to input full path of database as long as theres no other databases which use same name in the organization]
5. Please try to create a new storage group for testing
