Exchange Cached Mode with Exchange 2007 doens't work
I have just installed Exchange 2007 as part of Microsoft EBS 208 and am having difficulty with Cached Exchange Mode. Outlook works great without Cached Exchange, but as soon as I select Cached Exchange Mode, it doesn’t get any email and there are many synchronization log come up in the Sync Issues folder. Please advise me what should be done to enable Cached Exchange Mode properly. Thanks for any comments in advance.Kucheong

What version of Outlook are you using? Is it up to the latest version patches? Outlook in cached mode may take a few minutes to get the intial sync. Does this work for every account and have you tried to this on another machine?Mark Morowczynski|MCT| MCSE 2003:Messaging, Security|MCITP:EMA 2K7,EDA Win 7,ES,SA,EA|MCTS:Windows Mobile Admin|Security+|http://almostdailytech.com

It is Outlook 2003 and it is up to dated. It took over an hour but couldn't get any. I tried more than 3 desktops in the branch office, but they are all the same.I tried a desktop with Outlook 2003 in the officec in where the Exchange servers are installed, but the Outlook also couldn't get updated with Cached Exchange Mode although it works great without Cached Exchange Mode. I tried more than 3 deskptops in office, but they also couldn't get emails in Cached Exchange Mode.Because there many users in a branch office, Cached Exchange Mode is important to them. Thanks for your comment.Kucheong

Does the cache mode yet work before? The same issue happens to all internal (MAPI) and external outlook clients (HTTPS), right? Can the new message be received by clicking other folders or Send/Receive button? Is there any error event in the application log on the EBS server? What’s the error info in the synchronization log? Please refer the KBs below to verify if there’s UDP communication issue between the EBS server and the client machines. Windows XP-based clients do not receive "new mail" notification messages after you install Service Pack 1 The Outlook Find feature and the new mail notifications do not work after you apply Windows XP Service Pack 2 Explanation: To receive new emails from Exchange server, Outlook needs to initiate a RPC Synchronization request to Exchange server. Outlook client registers IP address and UDP port when it logs on to mailbox then when Exchange server receives a new message, server will send UDP packets to that IP address (UDP port) to inform the client. Then client will initiate a RPC Synchronization for the message. So, the new messages can’t be received if there’s a UDP communication issue Notes: For the exchange issue on the EBS server, please use “EBS 2008” newsgroup which would be the best place for the question. I found the reason.Because I got Micorsoft file and setting transfer wizrd it didn't work for the in-office users. For remote users, I didn't remove their Exchamnge setting but just made changes, it didn't work.I remove the exchange from the mail setting and add users back, the Cached Exchange mode started working.I don't know what Micorsoft file and setting transfer wizrd did, but it made Cached Exchange mode not working. Thanks for your comment.Kucheong
