No it will not work... as the DN of the database is different. The parameters are Storagegroup name , db name , server name.. which will be different. In exchange 2010 , You have the facility of db portabilty so you are able to do it. again the DB name etc are built in Db itself. ( eseutil /mh would show it). Anyway in case of emergency .. there are certian ways in which you can restore the mailflow. Like - dial tone database, restoring the DB etc.
