Exchange Server - Windows Firewall

Hi

I am just looking into configuring my single Exchange 2013 server with the local Windows Firewall. I am interesting only in inbound at the moment. I cant seem to find specific examples of other people doing it. Is it something that is recommended by Microsoft?

If so I have been reading this guide and it looks like 443, 80 and 587 should do it. Just wondered what other people have done for this

Thanks!

Hi,

Port 25 is essential to receive smtp communications. So add that too.

When you installed Exchange, setup requires that the Windows Firewall service is running so it can create the necessary exclusions. If the firewall is disabled now, but the service is still running, simply enable it and the required exceptions are already in place.
