While its technically possible to do as long as you check your max recipients setting in ESM > Global Settings > Message Delivery > Defaults, it may become a bit awkward to manage over 1000 recipients, especially if you have to start managing unsubscribe requests. If they create a distribution list from within Outlook then you may hit problems as I think Outlook has limitations on the max size of personal distribution lists. If you created it on the server in AD then you may be able to get it to work with larger numbers of recipients however you, rather than the marketing dept would have to manage it I suspect and with over 1000 contacts thats a lot of work! Of course on top of this, depending on how your network is setup there are other considerations to thing about such as network utilisation, how long it takes to send them (you dont want to try sending them overnight only to find your mail queue still full come business hours!), and its also worth thinking about whether what you are mailing is likely to get your IP flagged as a spammer. In my opinion, when you start wanting to mass mail 1000's of people it becomes worthwhile looking at 3rd party solutions who handle bulk mail on a daily basis and so are setup to allow much easier management (and with much less risk of being flagged as a potential source of spam!).My blog: http://www.monkeydust.net | Twitter: http://www.twitter.com/MrYiff

In Powershell this is as simple as this: cat group.csv | Add-DistributionGroupMember Engineering1. You have all your 1000 users in the .csv2. In this example our distro is "engineering"Fred Chamanara | Advanced Agile Technology LLC | www.advancedagile.com |

Surely this will only work on Exchange 2007/2010 however nvisibl is using Exchange 2003 which doesnt come with any powershell support. My blog: http://www.monkeydust.net | Twitter: http://www.twitter.com/MrYiff
