Exchange Server 2003 Recipient Policies
Hello, I have an Exchange server 2003 installed on Windows 2003 server which is hosting 400 mailboxes. The exchange server is used to send and receive emails both from external and internalfor a domain called Yankees.com, now we have bought one more domain called zyxel.com. I wantsome of my users to havezyxel .com emailaddress.I know it cane be done using recipient polices.Create new recipients policy and add zyxel.com. How about the mail addressgenerated onlyfor 10 users ??I will keep postingThanks

Hi,Add zyxel.com to thedesired user accounts (like in company name). You can then create a new recipient policy and using a ldap filter search for companyname = zyxel.com.Leif

Leif you have been a great help to me man, you rock.Can you please verify these step below.Step1) Create a new user called John Doe fromADUC.Step2) Right Click the user got to its Properties andunder the organization tab i find company under companyI filled zyxel.com.Step3) Then I go to System Managerunders recipeints got to recipeints policies. Create new policy called Zyxel.com
Step4) Aftr the new recipeint policy is created I right click the policy and under the general properties i find Modify.
Click modify "Find Exchange Recipient" dialogue box appears under find I select users,contact and Groups.then clicked Advanced click field select user then company Field Condition Vlaue nameCompanyis (Exactly) Zyxel.comAfter I search I can see john doe I clicked ok.Is it all I have to do ?? Thanks once again for a great help

The above steps about the recipeint policy is perfect and if you still want to make sure that the policy is applied for the user go to start run ad try LDP click on connection and select connect and click ok again click on connection and click on bind and click okclick on view and select tree and click ok now you see the same tree view as you see it ADISEIDT you do the same in the ADSIEDIT bu LDP is good one go to the recipent policy you customised policy and you have the object guid (it will be Guid value) copy it and go to the user container and select the user and check for the MSEXCHPOLICYINCLUDE and check you have the guid value in it this make sure that the e mail address policy is applied to the user just to confirm that and also by applying the policy you can make only the internal mail to work not the external mail for this you need register a MX record for that and only then the external mailflow will work Thanks venkat Venkat
