Exchange Server 2003 Server 2003 configuration
We are in the process of replacing our current Exchange 2003 system with an upgraded Exchange 2003 hardware and capability. We are putting 5 servers in our environment withActive/Passive Exchange clustering andjournaling. Each machine has 4 72 GB HDs. We are planning on creating a 144 GB RAID 0 +1C: drive with the swapfile on it, or we could go with a 72 GB Raid 1 C drive and a 144 GB Raid 0E: drive for swap.We are very concerned with performance and I do not think we need to be concerned with the size, but I am wondering what the best practice would be. Any assistance would be appreciated.

The number 1 rule is to separate your types of IO for performance. Logs on separate spindles then database. I would read this. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb125079(EXCHG.65).aspx Mark Morowczynski|MCSE 2003:Messaging, Security|MCITP:ES, SA|MCTS:Windows Mobile Admin|Security+|http://almostdailytech.com

Indeed. How are you going to be setting up the storage for your A/P cluster? How many mailbox servers?
