Exchange Server 2003 Tracking Logs Max 99 Days?
Hi! I found out that we only can set maximum 99 days (2 digits) in the "Remove Files older than (days):" under Server manager> Administrative Tools> storage box logging. But our Company directors demand for more. Is there anyway we can increased to e.g. 180 days?

In normal circumstances you would not need more then 30 days , which is default limit , Microsoft has given you 99 days just as extra preventative measures, but if you need to go beyond this then you can archive them , or use old backup to retreieve them. With Best Regards, Salman Gilani

Write a batch file to copy them out and schedule it to run from time to time.-- Ed Crowley MVP"There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems.". Agree with both. You can set less days in Remove Files older than (days). Instead, you can periodically backup the log files or move them into another disk. "If you allow log files to accumulate on the server, they can consume a large part of your disk space and may affect performance." http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa996983(EXCHG.65).aspx If you want to search the old data in backuped files, you can restore the logs into Message Tracking log directory to search.Frank Wang
