Exchange Server 2003 disk space usage
I have a single Exchange Server 2003 box in my environment. I have asked users to start archiving mail as the disk space on the volume running Exchange is starting to fill up. Could I also delete any log files from the {servername}.log folder under Prorgram Files\EXCHSRVR to reclaim space?

Do not delete them, this is ill advised unless you know what you are doing and have advanced knowledge of Exchange Server. They are removed during FULL or INCREMENTAL backups.Do you backup your Exchange Databases?Read "Transaction Logs; the lifeblood of Exchange" http://www.msexchange.org/articles/Transaction-Logs-Lifeblood-Exchange.htmlPay particular note of the best practice section. If you do backup Exchange then your log files should truncate after a successful backup. If your Log files DO indeed truncate then please provide more information as other guidance can be given.Oliver Oliver Moazzezi | Exchange MVP, MCSA:M, MCTS:Exchange 2010, BA (Hons) Anim | http://www.exchange2007.com | http://www.exchange2010.com | http://www.cobweb.com |

Hi, You also could do an offline defragment to get more free spaces. You could check recent occurrences of event 1221 to know how much free spaces you can get after the procedure. Please read the following thread: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/exchangesvrgeneral/thread/af6757f2-3ede-4f25-ae13-d24da39e9678 Thanks, Elvis
