I bought mailboxes from our ISP and I want to use MS Exchange server 2003 in our local LAN but now Im facing the problem in placing MS exchange server in our local LAN because Our ISP does not permit on creating MX-cord on their DNS server and only POP3 and Web services were used. Is it possible to create MS Exchange server in our Local LAN?

And you want to build an exchange server 2003 sever in your local LAN to support the email service; well then, what about your domain name for the user, do you want to use the same domain name a.com. If you hope so, your ISP maybe does not permit on your request. Becausethe domain has already a MX record.And if you use another domain name b.com, you just let your ISP add a new MX record for the new domain; I think your ISP should do it for you. Another way, you dont need to buy mailbox from your ISP if you create an exchange server 2003 server in your local LAN, because it can support all the mail service for you. You can apply for a MX record from your ISP for your current domain; yet, the exchange server must have a public IP address.
