Exchange Server 2007 VHD Trial Evaluation - Installation Question
Hi,This question is in reference to the Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 Evaluation pre-configured Virtual Hard Disk (VHD):http://www.microsoft.com/technet/try/vhd/default.mspxIt appears from the documentation that this virtual server image should work on it's own however the Exchange Management Console only reports errors that it cannot access Active Directory and that "no suitable domain controller was found in domain 'contoso.com'".I can't seem to locate any information, documents or articles that refer to another virtual server or network that must be running to provide the Active Directory necessary to use the Exchange Server 2007 Evaluation image. The basic information for this image implies that Active Directory should be included on the image: "This VHD provides an exploration of Active Directory and the new features in Exchange Server 2007".None of the other Microsoft pre-configured Virtual Hard Disks provide the necessary Active Directory domain controller.Has anyone else encountered this problem and does anyone know how to work around it?Any assistance is greatly appreciated!

hi there. The VHD you downloaded should be a fully functional system and you should not be receiving errors when you try to use the Exchange Management Console. The copy you have may have been corrupted during download. I suggest you download the VHD again and see if you still receive the error. I'll also download the VHD to verify that there aren't any problems with it. David.

I had the same issue. The server was set to DHCP. Give it a static IP address (192.168.100.1 is the one it is looking for, I think).
