Exchange Server 2007 req. which Outlook
Hello
I would like to know, which Outlook Version is required for Exchange Server 2007. Will Outlook 2003, 2002 (XP) also work when Public Folders are available? Which restrictions will I have?
Thanks a lot for a feedback,
Norbert

All versions you mentioned are supported and no restrictions other than having a Public Folder store in Ex2007.

Hi Norbert,
I agree with John, all version are supported after 2002 (2000 or earlier outlook clients are not supported with Exchange 2007) including public folder compatibility.
Just make sure that you have a PF store in Exchange 2007, which will be created by default while installing of first Exchange 2007 if you have selected Yes in the below question in installation.
"Do you have any client computers running Outlook 2003 and earlier or Entourage in your organization?"
If you have selected NO then you can check below KB article.

And if you're using an older version of outlook, you got to use IMAP or POP.
Would be reduced in functionality, but depends on what you want to do.
Another option is, not to use installed clients, just to use Outlook Web Access.
This option is not fixed to any client software. Just depencies to your browser.
Grz.
