Exchange Server Disk Resize question
Hello - I have a single-server Exchange org running Exchange 2007. It is on a physical Windows 2008 server, and when I built it I made some basic decisions on disk size. I want to make some changes to those disks. I know that with Server2008 I can shrink the disks with the Disk Management tool. However, the two partitions I want to shrink hold my Exchange database and log files. Would I create problems with Exchange if I were to shrink the disks down a bit? My log drive is 230GB, of which I am using 1GB or so, and my database drive is 464GB, of which i am using about 55GB. Thanks Paulo

Exchange does not care. Do a complete online (Exchange aware) backup and then stop all the services and do a full backup of the flat files. Resize the partitions as appropriate. I would suggest one thing though. Given the scale of the changes you are about to make I would instead delete the partitions and recreate them the size you need then copy the flat files back and restart the Exchange services. Its an option and merely an opinion. "Paulo1984" wrote in message news:cbe9a8bf-9a8a-4a13-8a37-5ef69eefaed9... Hello - I have a single-server Exchange org running Exchange 2007. Hi Paulo1984, Sure, it seems not related with exchange, it maybe related the drive resize, you could post it on the server OS forum for some help. In my opinion, I would not suggest that change it, because it is useful in the future that has a large space for the database and log. Regards!
