Exchange Server Listed in System Manager that does not exist anymore
Hello,I'm working on an issue with Exchange 2003 on a Windows 2003 Server Standard R2 install. This is a new server to the domain and is replacing the old exchange server. It is not an Domain Controller. All of the mailboxes and functions of Exchange have been migrated over to the new server. However, it appears that the original Exchange server did not get uninstalled prior to running DC Promo on it. Therefore the old server is still showing up in the Exchange System Manager on the new server. Everything seems to be running fine, but I would like to get the old server out of the system manager. Does anyone have any suggestions to accomplish this? Thanks for your help.Nathan Allen

You will need to use ADSI Edit to remove this server from ESM. Open an MMC console and add the ADSI Edit snap in. Right click on ADSI Edit and select Connect To... Under Naming Context, select Configuration Container and click ok. Expand the following folders: CN=Configuration,DC=YOURDOMAIN Services Microsoft Exchange Your Exchange Organization Name Administrative Groups Servers You should then be able to just right click and delete the server that no longer needs to be in ESM. Don't forget to allow some replication time once you delete the server.
