Well, firstly, the information is in the AD, not Exchange.Secondly, I'm not sure I understand how you're changing the contentsk.Thirdly, if you're altering the contents of the AD and it's workingfor some changes but not for others, there may be problems generatingthe OAB.However, if you disable Exchange cached-mode in Outlook, exit andrestart Outlook, and the value still doesn't appear to be changed, then it's probably that the AD data was never changed. If that's thecase it won't make any difference if you use the OAB or the GAL.---Rich MatheisenMCSE+I, Exchange MVP---

We are changing the content in AD, like under the Description field of that user we can change the description field and that will update in exchange and in the OAB but it then wont update into outlooks address book.

I guess this is where terminology is important. If the data are changed "in Exchange", I assume that means you're NOTworking in Exchange cached mode and you're using the Global AddressBook through NSPI.re working inExchange cached node and that the OABGen runs successfully and theOutlook client downlaods and processes the OAB deltas. So what does "Outlooks address book" mean? Are you referring to theinformation in the Contacts folder within the mailbox? Thatinformation is just present in Outlook. If you add a mailbox from theAD to the Contacts list Outlook will populate the contact with theproperties from the AD, but that's it. Any changes made in the ADaren't going to be reflected in the private contact object.---Rich MatheisenMCSE+I, Exchange MVP---

Hello Ebanks,If you are not experiencing this problem when you add a new outlook user, then my guess is that the old outlook has some user registry settings that did not change after you made the server side configuration changes. If this is so,create a new outlook profile for the users that are experiencing this problem. If new users do not have this problem, my guess is that creating a new profile for old users will clear up the problem as well.http://sharepoint.falconits.com/Lists/Questions%20and%20Answers/DispForm.aspx?ID=2&Source=http%3A%2F%2Fsharepoint%2Efalconits%2Ecom%2FLists%2FQuestions%2520and%2520Answers%2FAllItems%2EaspxCheers,MiguelMiguel Fra / Falcon ITS
