Exchange Server and SPAM
Our new Exchange 2007 Server keeps getting blacklisted on Spamhaus... I believe it is because we have got DNS setup incorrectly. I have set up reverse DNS on our ISP to point to mail.cccoa.com When looking at email header they are sent mail from our FQDN of (ORION.CCCOA.LOCAL)... How do I setup Exchange to send mail as my public DNS record or do I need to add something else on our DNS entry on the public internet? Or am I focusing on the totally incorrect area regarding this issue? Thanks, Dave

Spamhaus should tell you why you have been listed. What does that say? The value you have referred to is configured on the Send Connector. The FQDN value is all that you have to change. Although I would be surprised if that was the cause of the blacklisting. Do you have a single IP address? If so, it could be a compromised client. The email will appear to be coming from the same IP address as your email server. Simon.Simon Butler, Exchange MVP. http://blog.sembee.co.uk , http://exbpa.com/
