Whice version of Exchange Server will run on Windows Server 2008 x86 and Windows Web Server 2008 x86. Thank you LadyDee Darlene Murphy Please see the linked Exchange Supportability Matrix - Supported Operating System Platforms section: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff728623.aspx The Web Server edition is not supported for any Exchange version. Any Exch version that is supported on 2008 server is x64 only. As Vinod mentioned, the 32-bit version of Exch 2007 is not a supported production edition and should only be used in a lab or to load Management tools on 32-bit OSes.Tim Harrington - Catapult Systems - http://HowDoUC.blogspot.com

Exchange server will run on x86 - 64 bit windows server 2008 . it will not run on web server 2008 ( 32 or 64 bit). Exchange 2007 -32 bit not used for production can be installed on 32 -bit windows 2008 but not on web server 2008.

Now I am confused, so will any Exchange work on X86 with Windows Server 2008? LadyDee Darlene Murphy Exchange 2010 can only be installed on 64-bit hardware and OS. The OS can only be Windows 2008 SP2 or R2 (Stand or Enterprise Edition). Please see link referenced above. Exchange 2007 can only be installed on 64-bit hardware and OS for production. There is a 32-bit version available for lab purposes and loading management tools on 32-bit OSes.Tim Harrington - Catapult Systems - http://HowDoUC.blogspot.com

This is what I am running: Windows Server 2008 Datacenter, Enterprise, and Standard with Service Pack 2 Debug/Checked Build (x86) - DVD (English) Darlene Murphy This will not work, it is a 32-bit OS and Exchange is 64-bit and requires a 64-bit OS. Sounds like I should leave Exchange alone then till I upgrade my desktop, my laptop is 64 bit, but can not afford to lose what is on it. LadyDeeDarlene Murphy

Not sure I follow...what does your desktop have to do with it. Your desktop OS can be 32-bit or 64-bit. The 64-bit requirement is for the server that is hosting Exchange only.Tim Harrington - Catapult Systems - http://HowDoUC.blogspot.com
