If services is set to starta automatic, they should start when you reboot your server. have seen issues when they dont and it has been related to Windows and Exchange services cannot reach a DC/GC when windows boots up, after a minute or so network connections start work and you can start services manually. have you spanning tree enabled in your network switches? this can cause the above behavior. ie switches stop traffic before spanning tree is fully calculated and popoluated. lasse at humandata dot se, http://anewmessagehasarrived.blogspot.com

Hi, Agree with Lasse. It is by design that you need to restart Exchange 2010 after you restart all stopped services. And these services will come into effect after you restart Exchange Server. Hope this helps. ThanksSophia Xu
