Exchange Settings and Mailbox Limits
We have Exchange 2003 sp2 running is a Win2003 domain.Application messages are telling us that we getting near the license limits (75GB) for our info store. This Exchange database has been running for 5-6 years and as far as I know never been offline defraged. But before we do a offline defrag we need to delete the stuff users don't need and place some limits on mailboxes. We have asked users to delete old stuff and we have deleted some old public folders. I am also considering:Having Exchange keep deleted emails for 3 days rather than the default 7 (we backup the database every day)Having Exchange keep deleted mailboxes for 30 days rather than the default 90.Placing a limit of 200MB on mailboxes. Are the above usefull? Is 200MB a reasonable limit for mailboxes? What else do I need to do before an offline defrag?
