Exchange accounts still showing over 300k worth of email after user deleted all emails from account
I have two users with exchange accounts that I have sent multiple warnings to about their oversized mailboxes. Both of them haved cleared everything out of their Inbox, Deleted Items, Sent Items and all other subfoldersbut their mailboxes are still showing over 1000 Items & the size is showing over 300 MB in Exchange System Manager. Going into Properties on these accounts show me that all of the subfolders have been completely cleared. What is the issue here?

Hi Dr.Exchange, You might want to try Isinteg. ISinteg is a command-line tool that correlates and repairs information and relationships between mailboxes, folders, etc. You can run it when the following situation occr: - An item count on a mailbox is inconsistent. For example, if a mailbox containing 150 messages reports its size as anything other than 150, some of the counters and pointers in your mailbox store may be corrupt. Kind regards, Sam All

Did you check their "Recover Deleted Items" bin? Typically there is "soft deletion" turned on in Exchange and by default deleted items are recoverable for up to 7 days.
