Hi I understand that Exchange uses Active Directory to store all the information. Therefore, is it logical to assume that Exchange changes are propogated around the org at the same time as AD replication is configured? Two examples. Let's say I have a multi-site AD environment. The replication between each site is 180 minutes. i) There is a user (User1) in SiteA who's Exchange server is UKExch01. In site A is also UKDC1. I move the user's mailbox to an Exchange server in another AD site, France, FranceExch01. Just after I do this, a user in the China AD site wants to send User1 an email. So the message goes from ChinaExch01. However, ChinaExch01 will send the message to UKExch01 wouldn't it? In which case what would happen? And would I be correct in saying that ChinaExch01 would keep doing this, until the fact that User1's home Exchange server/ home Exchange database was on FranceExch01 had been propogated, via AD replication, between either UKDC01 or FranceDC01 (I'm not sure which)? ii) There is a Routing Group Connector between France and UK. An Admin deletes this RGC. Would the other Exchange servers in the org try to route over this/plan their routing topology based on this until AD replication had occurred? In which case, this could take up to 180 minutes? Or are these sort of changes replicated immediately somehow?

Hi,Active Directory is stored in three partitions: Shema, Configuration, Domain. Exchange recipients are stored in the Domain partition. Any changes on the recipients will be propagated to the DC within the domain associated with AD replication.Thus, when a user in the China AD site to send the email to User1 who just has been migrated, the message will go to UKExch01 unitl the changes has been propagated.For the RGC, which is stored in Configuration partition and replicated to every DC in the forest. For any changes, it will updated on port 691 by using Exchange Routing Engine service.ThanksAllen
