This is an Exchange 2003 question. Our companyrecently purchased another company that has a Windows 2003 domain with Exchange.. Our executives would like to be able to see calendars and book meetings with that company. Can this be accomplished over a trust? We have a Windows 2003 infrastructure with Exchange 2003 as well... If this can't be accomplished over a trust, what would be the best way to get them on board...

The Free and Busy information is stored in a public folder in Exchange 2003. You basically would need to do two steps. The first is to use the Microsoft GALSYNC process located in their free tool called the IIFP: http://www.msexchange.org/tutorials/GAL-Sync-Identity-Integration-Feature-Pack-IIFP.html Once you have mail identities showing up in each others GAL (remember objects in the GAL is how your users see free/busy for each other today, so more objects for the other company is required for this to work), you need to sync the free/busy information back and forth. Microsoft has another free tool called the inter-org replication tool: http://www.msexchange.org/tutorials/Configuring-InterOrg-Replication-Tool.html Once those two are up and running, your users should have the functionality they are looking for. Quick word of caution - if the display names are different in both companies, they might not like that the GALSYNC process copies the display names over as is. You can customize the GALSYNC process to "be smarter" but it can be a pain if you aren't familiar with it as it is a Metadirectory product. Good luck!
