Hi All,

Like to know whether exchange 2010/2013 supoorts SAN /NAS Basiaclly shared storage. 

and also good design documents

Hi Muthu,

Based on my knowledge, NAS is not supported either in a physical or virtual environment for Exchange directly. It is because we can't put the databases on a network drive. we need to put the database on a local drive or true block storage (SAN). It is not possible to mount databases stored on any network shares.

For "network-attached storage" feature, Exchange 2010 only supports Internet SCSI (iSCSI). Exchange 2013 doesn't support the use of network attached storage (NAS) volumes, other than in the SMB 3.0 scenario.

Hi

SANs are supported but you would need separate storage for each member of your DAG so that could get quite expensive.  Direct Attached Storage is normally the best option.
