Things went wrong when trying to install the last two updates for Exchange 2013. They were a critical and a security update for Exchange. These updates did not installed; they failed (stalled). They disabled exchange related services and IIS sites. All exchange related services were disabled not just stopped. Also IIS sites related to exchange were stopped.

We searched but got nothing that these updates are problematic.

Could it be that our system is not correct configured? Maybe not enough rights? Or ..?

what are the names of the last two updates? what is your exchange version?

Have you seen any error during the updating process?

Are you seeing any related errors in the event viewer of the Exchange server?

Please post the detailed error event information here for further analysis.

In addiction, we can use the below command to check the server health :

Get-HealthReport Identity <ServerName>
