Exchange file sharing
I have an excel file in a public folder in exchange 2003. It works well for allowing groups to view the file, but if multiple people open the file to edit it we don't get a "File locked by another user" until after they try to save the file. This causes them to lose all the data they just entered. Is there a way to set exchange to warn the user that the file is already open when they open the file and not when they save the file. Thanks

It's designed to act as a document managementsystem. Only one person at a time can check out a file for editing, and they have to check the file in before someone else can edit thefile.---Rich MatheisenMCSE+I, Exchange MVP
