Exchange flow
Here is our Exchange setup: Exchange Edge 2007, Exchange Hub, and Barracuda. Right now incoming e-mails from from Internet->Barracuda->Edge->Hub. Outgoing e-mails flow from Hub->Edge->Internet. What we would like to accomplish is Hub->Edge->Barracuda->Internet.
Can I just create a send connector on the Edge and send it to Barracuda and Barracuda? Will our mailflow break if I add a new send connector on the Edge? Thanks.

Why have you got an Edge if you have the Barracuda?

That's a good question. It's been that way since I got here. I thought it would provide more layers of protection. In addition, I think Barracuda has more capabilities than Edge alone doing all the work.

Yup. Unless you have an identified business need for the thing you should probably tear it out and get a license back. Maybe put some (more?) fault tolerance into the HT/CAS environments?

Anyways, have you implemented inbound and outbound using Barracuda?

All you do is configure the Send Connector with a smarthost address which is, obviously, the internal address of your Barracuda. The Receive Connector is configured to accept email from the IP address

I'm assuming this would be done at the Edge. Currently, we have two send connectors on the edge; one from internet to our site and site to internet. Can I use the site to internet as a smarthost or create a new one? Thanks.

Hi,
You can use the site to Internet as a smarthost.
Thanks

That's what I thought. If I have an Edge Subscription, I have to do it on the Hub.
