Exchange forwarded mails
Hi, Emails to support@myoffice.com is forwarded to myname@myoffice.com. Am getting the mails. But when I reply to these mails, the from address is taking as myname@myoffice.com. How can this get changed to support@myoffice.com. ?? Regards, Aby

The default reply address is going to be whatever you profile is set for. So if you Outlook profile is myname@myoffice.com, then that will be the address you send will come from. One way around this is to give yourself "Send As" permissions for the support account. Then add the "From.." field in your Outlook client. You will then be able to specify support in the From address. This will be done on a per email basis and will not be automatic. Not sure what version of Exchange you have, but here are the instructions for 2010: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb676368.aspx Tim Harrington | MVP: Exchange | MCITP: EMA 2007/2010, MCITP: Server 2008, MCTS: OCS | Blog: http://HowDoUC.blogspot.com | Twitter: @twharrington

Hi Tim, Thanks for your reply. Am using exchange 2003 and owa. I had given Send on Behelf permission for the support@myoffice.com. But how to make the From field visible in OWA. Regards, Aby

I dont think there is such option in OWA. However way around is to grant rights to the mailbox and than from within OWA you can choose the Open Mailbox option and open the other mailbox and when you send a mail it will go via that user instead. Sajjad

Sajjad is correct, no From field in OWA. You will need a full Outlook client to do this. FYI, Send As and Send on Behalf of are two different things. But both will allow you to add another user in the from field: http://msexchangeteam.com/archive/2005/01/07/348596.aspx Tim Harrington | MVP: Exchange | MCITP: EMA 2007/2010, MCITP: Server 2008, MCTS: OCS | Blog: http://HowDoUC.blogspot.com | Twitter: @twharrington
