Hi We have some maintenance in a part of our data center on a coming weekend and need to take down both nodes of one of our Exchange 2007 SP2 SCC (Active/Passive) clusters. The Hub Transports, CAS boxes etc in the site will remain up. The server also has an SCR target in our DR location. What's the best way to do this to avoid database corruption. I was plannign on: 1. Shutting down the passive node first (Node2). 2. Taking a full backup 3. Suspend SCR for all SG's 4. Dismounting the stores gracefully on Node.1 5. Once all stores are down, power down Node1. How does that sound? Once the power outage is over: 1. Power on Node1. 2. Mount the stores one by one 3. Resume SCR 4. Power on Node2 How does this sound? Also, for any emails that were sent to users over the weekend, what would their timestamp be? They would be queued on the nearest Hub Transport, so would the Recieved value be when the stores were all mounted, or what time they were recieved by the Hubs?

I would suggest that you could follow the below when we do the update or other maintenance: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb691226(EXCHG.80).aspx For the message queued on the hub server, you could make a test before you do the maintenance. In my opinion, it should be the time thry were recieved by the HUB. Regards! Gavin
