Exchange not getting email reliably
I recently installed SBS2003 Std with Exchange server 2003. I have installed Trend Micro Worry Free Business Security Advanced. I set up Outlook 2003 on the clients, set up caching, imported previous emails from straight Outlook with no server.
I have found that emails are not received consistently. I can send emails to this system from outside and they always get through. Some emails are received only after being sent a second time, some not at all. Attachments make no difference. There was a problem sending out emails to start with but a detailed look at settings resolved that. I have tried to reduce the Trend settings but it had no effect.
I've run Troubleshooting Assistant and Best Practice Analyser and everything looks OK. Outlook gives theerror 0x8004010F "The operation failed An object could not be found" when Exchange Server tries to read when I do a manual Send/Receive.
I'm about to uninstall Exchange at the clients insistence but I am reluctant to. If anyone can help I'd appreciate it. I'm getting desperate!
Also can Exchange be set to not delete emails from the POP3 server at the ISP when they get downloaded to Exchange?

Hi,
If possible you should discard the POP3 downloader and host the SMTP mails directly on the server. That should remove the problem.
The error message you receive when synchronizing is most probably caused by problems with the offline address book. You should start your troubleshooting there.

Hi,
For the error 0x8004010F, there is a KB address this issue:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/905813
You mentioned the emails were not received sometimes, was there any NDR received? Does the issue happen if you send internal emails?
