Exchange not receiving mail from Internet
Hi people,I have just built a new server to replace my old one. I had Windows 2003 Small Business Server with Exchange all on one server. I have replaced it with a new server (below) this time with Server 2003 Standard R2.I also have Virtual server running on it with two further servers, one is a Anti Virus server and one an exchange server. It's a brand new server, Intel Zeon Dual core 1.8Ghz with 4 gigs RAM.As I was replacing with a different version of Windows and because of the limitations in SBS I ran dcpromo and set up a new domain and called it the same as the old domain to which I have removed. This server is also a DNS server, and it's running IIS and ASP.netDHCP is being carried out by my Netgear ProSafe router. As my ISP gives me dynamic IP addresses I am using TZO.com for dynamic DNS. I have been using this for two years with no problems. PROBLEM Since I have set this new system up, my exchange is not receiving any incoming mail from the WAN. I can send no problem and I can send/receive internally. When I set up the DNS server I placed a MX record pointing to the mail server (which is on a virtual server physically sat on the same server.) On the Domain controller I ran the exchange management from the CD. I installed the TZO DDNS application on the DC also and it's open in the firewall (that part has been set up for two years). All the DNS A records seem to be there with correct IP addresses. My MX record is a .com even though for my domain I used .local. However I have tried both and it makes no difference. Anyone got any ideas what's gone wrong?

Hi, There is no need for a MX record in the internal DNS. 1.) Make sure that your firewall forwards SMTP (port 25) to the new Exchange server. 2.) Make sure that you have a recipient policy that includes your external smtp domain name. Leif
