Exchange public folder calendar problems with only 1 user
I have 1 user who is having problems with the exchange pucblic folder calendar. We are running Windows 2003 with Exchange 2007 with all the latest upgdates. The clients are running Outlook 2007 with SP2. We have approx. 25 users on the system. It all works fine except for 1 person. When they add entries to the public folder company calendar, no one else can see the entries. When others post entries they also post crated tags on the calendar entry that changes the entry to a different color. The different colors and tags give the users the status of the entry. The user with the problem can see the other entries other people put in the calendar but cant view with tags or colors of the entries. I have re-created the users profile and still have the same problem. I have also logged into a different user on her workstation with the problem and the other user does not have the problem and can view and edit the calendar with no problems. I have removed the cache exchanged mode and still had the problem. I breated a new user on the system and setup a new profile on the problem computer and the Public folder calendar worked fine for the new user. So I have ruled out it not being the computer and I have ruled out it not being the Outlook profile. It seems that the problem lies somehwere within that specific users permissions? Even though this user belongs to the same group as everyone else and I never played with individual user permisisons (except for mailbox rights to other users). I never set individual security permissions on the public folder calendar. Everyone all has the same permission. However after having this problem I set the particular user who is having the problem to specifically be an author of the public folder calendar and it did not fix the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

So, a particular user can’t see the color categories in the public folder items, right? Could the issue be reproduced if you created a new public folder calendar, and let the problematic user to see the color? Please compare the categories that the working user has and the problematic user has in the “All Categories” (Reference) Does the other set the customized color categories on the public folder items? Could the problematic user see the color if they set the default color on the items? Information: Categories are now stored as a hidden item in the default “Calendar” folder. The hidden item has a MessageClass of "IPM.Configuration.CategoryList". The category information is stored as a binary property (PT_BINARY) at property tag 0x7C080102 in that messageJames Luo TechNet Subscriber Support (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/subscriptions/ms788697.aspx) If you have any feedback on our support, please contact tngfb@microsoft.com
