Hello, Can you be more specific about what you mean by "I can't get past the desktop?". Do you mean the password logon screen? I am guessing that you have a SBS 2003 installed on a server that's on premise and this is what you want to replace with Vista, right? Backup method 1 [easy way]: If this is a run-o-the mill server PC with IDE drives, go out and get a new IDE drive for about $ 80.00. Remove the old IDE drive and store it in case you ever need the data again. Install the new IDE drive and install Vista on it, voila! Backup Method 2 : Using the Windows Backup utility, back up the entire drive (or whatever it is that you need to keep a copy of). You may need to get an external hard drive because a whole server backup (or even an Exchange DB) is unlikely to fit on a USB key or a CD ROM! Hopefully this works for you, if not please provide more detailMiguel Fra / Falcon ITS Computer & Network Support, Miami, FL
