Exchange server 2003 issue with email addresses
Hi, just set up exchange 2003 and never experienced this issue in the past. Maybe because it's different here. The domain of the network is whatever.local (and not .com or .net etc.) I set the default smtp email address (changed it from whatever.local to our real domain name), but even before I did this, after I create a new user, if I go to the Email Addresses tab, nothing is listed. Empty. Can someone please help me resolve this? We are logged in as Administrator when doing this, exchange is on a separate server. I searched online all night only to find nothing. This is a brand new setup on Windows Server 2003 Enterprise, fresh install of the server, etc. Exchange 2003 SP2 EDIT: Figured it out, had to manually start the Exchange Information Store service. It is set to automatic startup but it never started. How can I trace this and prevent from future occurrence?

Hi, Do you mean change the default SMTP email address in Recipient Policy, after you create a new user, nothing is listed in the Email Address tab? The Email Address tab will be always empty without your operation? Or you need to wait a while to see the email address?Did you try to manully update the Defalut Policy or Recipient Update Service? One post seems like with yours.http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/exchangesvrgeneral/thread/c39bb414-423e-4796-a728-feb27a7ab313/?prof=requiredFor your second question ,you may need to ask another question about it. Please provide more information ,like error event in event viewer. Frank Wang
