HI All, I have setup New Exchange 2010 in Virtual and below configuration. We have 300GB Archive emails in PST so what is the best way to import and give access to users? Also how do i setup the archive. Exchange 2010 : C:(OS) 60GB D:(APP) 100GB E: (DB1) : 300GB F:(DB2) : 300GB G: (Log) : 100GB I: (BKUP) : 400GB So What is the best option? 1. Add new Exchange VM ( Mailbox role) 2. Add Bigger Drive to current VM? ( 1 TB) AS

Hi there, The amount of disk space that you require typically depends on the amount of data your mailboxes have. Assuming that your disks are currently sized to support the amount of 'active' mail data, I'd suggest that you add another LUN with sufficient disk space to store the Archives on (it will at least require you 300 GB; so comfortably use 350GB or more to make sure you don't run into disk space issues). You don't have to add another server, unless your current server is already 'on its knees' with regards to performance. Archives - typically used less intensively - aren't that demanding. Nonetheless, if you decided to add them to your current server, make sure that you monitor resource usage! Not so long ago, Microsoft released the PST Capture tool. It will allow you to "search & upload" PST files into user's mailboxes or archives. Hi, So i got 2 Database drives and they are 60% full. So When i import these 300 GB , its goes to these user mailbox isn't it? I have to create 2 more Database drives and distribute the load?

Don't you want to implement Personal Archive? If you enable the personal archive, you can import pst items to the archive mailbox directly. And you can place the personal archive mailboxes into the dedicated archive mailbox database.
