Exchange server deleting messages after 3 days
I am a newbie, so I apologise if I am in the wrong discussion group but I hope someone can steer me in the right direction. For years I have used Office Outlook, presently 2003 version.I recently sold my company to a much larger organization, which uses web-based outlook via Exchange (not sure which version, but probably the latest).Initially, I configured my Outlook 2003 to access the Exchange Server as an additional email account. This worked. Then I removed that account because my messages were getting all co-mingled. However, the end result is that messages on the web based outlook system disappear after 3 days. There is not a user setting in the Exchange Outlook to affect the time before messages are deleted. It appears that there is something residual in outlook 2003 that might be affecting things, but I don't know. The Exhange administrator has never seen this behaviour before. We can only conclude that there is some after effect from Outlook 2003.I have scoured my registry to see if there is anything obvious relating Outlook 2003 Local to the Exchange Server login, and I do not see anything obvious in ASCII. There may be a hex key, but I can't tell. I have not yet tried uninstalling Outlook, since that is drastic.Has anyone seen this before?Any input would be most welcome. Thank you.chromian
