Exchange server installation on domain controller with ADDS installed
I am a newbie to exchange server. I am working in a test environment. I have 3 domain controllers. DC1 has the parent domain, DC2 has the child domain and DC3 has the additional dc for DC1. All are running on windows server 2008 r2. Domain and Forest functional level is also 2008 r2. Now I want to install exchange server 2007 sp3 for learning and testing purposes. In which machine should I install the exchange server. After installing exchange what are the do's and dont's in terms of playing around with domain controllers? what changes I shouldn't make in the dc after installing exchange server? Thanks and Regards, Radhakrishnan

Hi, It is not recommended to have any other application running on Domain Controllers, since you have a test environment you can do it. Installing of Exchange will depend upon the Domain, where you have your users listed. So you can install it in any Domain, Once you install it on a DC, make sure you donot run DCPROMO and demote it, else your Exchange will stop workingThanks and Regards, Mukesh.
