HI Need some assistance on Exchange 2007 SP1 on Server 2008. When installaing the error i am reciveing is that the netbios name and dns name on the server are not the same. Could this nt be sorted pur via the DNS. or would i have to change the name. Thx CK

Please post the fully info of error, also the error info which appears in the application log 3. Check the installation log for more detailed error info Notes: C:\ExchangeSetupLogs [Default location]

HI Yhanks for the response. I was frustrated and evetuall i ran dcpromo and recreated the domain and dns. This sorted out the exchange installation problem. I am still not sure why it had a problem with the netbios name being trauncated or notbeing the same as the dns on the server.
