Exchnage Server For disaster recovery
Dear All,I have Exchange Server setupin cluster in my data center. I am planning to have the same server in DR (remote location) so that if anything goes wrong my DC then my DR exchange will take care of the same. But i did not see any document to configure the same exchagne server in DR. Could anyone help me to configure the same identical Exchange server in DR so that I would be 99.9% sure for disaster reocvery. And is there any concept of remote site servers clustering in Exchange. Thanks and RegardsArun Khatri

I would probably recommend having SCR setup on your DR site. It's easy to setup and do not require Windows clustering setup. Just make sure that your passive node have the same drive configuration i.e. drive letter. Check the below link out. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb676502.aspx

Yes, SCR works perfectly but couple of things to mention here, it requires manual activation when production site goes down and you need to have a DC at DR site... 1. Additional Domain Controller with GC. 2. You need to have other Exchange Server roles also (CAS & Hub), an AD site should have CAS and Hub server role where Mailbox server role is available, so install all roles on an another members server. 3. Yes, you need to enable SCR at source server and also need to seed the database since it is not new storage group it wouldn't have transaction logs from the beginning. Yes, if it has enough storage capacity to store all databases of source Exchange server.Amit Tank | MVP Exchange Server | MCITP: EMA | MCSA: M | http://ExchangeShare.WordPress.com

Yes, but make sure that Exchange Server hardware is capable enough hardware to handle all loads based on sizing cheat sheet...
