Exh2003: Cannot send or receive outside of our domain
We've got it all up and working except the sending and receiving of emails into or out of our domain. We have OWA working even with our hosted site, FTP running, Outlook accounts configured on client PCs, but the send and receive connections are NOT working. I also added a new A record to my hosting account, linking "mails.****.com" to my server IP address, and then added a new MX record that sends mails to "mails.****.com" and deleted the other MX records. Please help!Microsoft Windows Server 2008 Standard Microsoft Exchange 2007

Ports open on firewall? What happens when you send a message to your domain? Does the user get a NDR? If so, post here. Check message tracking for outbound messages. Run ExBpa against the server and the Mail Flow Troubleshooter. ALso test here: https://www.testexchangeconnectivity.com/

The open ports are 80,443,25,110, and a few others i can't remember off the top of my head. There is no NDR, but I do see them sitting in the queue in the Exchange System Manager. I ran the inboond and outbound test from your link above. Outbound was successful. Inbound reports that port 25 is blocked. I know for a fact there is a port rule for port 25 to be open, and with TCP. Microsoft Windows Server 2008 Standard Microsoft Exchange 2007

Well, the test knows for a fact its blocked. :) When you ran the test, was it connecting to the correct server?

ok i'll investigate that. I think there are two possibilities with that. 1. The ISP blocks that port for some reason, which happens. 2. The AV program on the server also has builtin firewall which blocks that port too. On the other hand, if the outbound test works fine, why can't I send emails to external domains? and yes, it was connecting to the right serverMicrosoft Windows Server 2008 Standard Microsoft Exchange 2007

You said outbound were sitting in a queue? If so, that sounds like a firewall issue as well or ISP not allowing port 25 traffic.

Hi, Is your domain name registered in Internet? If yes, try the followlin steps: 1. Open Exchange System Manager. Navigate to Administrative Groups, Site, Servers, Server name, Protocols, SMTP, Default SMTP Virtual Server, 2. Highlight Default SMTP Virtual Server, right click properties. 3. Go to the Delivery Tab, and click Advanced Button. 4. In the "Fully-qualified domain name: field, enter your fully qualified external domain name. Click Check DNS to verify that it resolves. 5. Restart SMTP service. Are you using a public static IP address? Messages from a dynamic IP address are blocked by most email servers.
