Export-Mailbox issues
We are trying to Export out a mailbox on our 2007 server. I am running the cmdlet from my workstatio XP pro 32 bit with 2007 management tools SP1 on it. I get this error: Setup encountered a problem while validating the state of Active Directory: Could not find Active Directory site to which this server belongs. At line:1 char:1 + e <<<< xport-Mailbox -Identity username -PSTFolderPath e:\username.pst Any ideas? All other function in 2007 seem fine. Thanks

Hi, Per my understanding, the current problem is that while trying to export-Emailbox, you get below error message. Setup encountered a problem while validating the state of Active Directory: Could not find Active Directory site to which this server belongs. If there is any misunderstanding, please feel free to correct me. To troubleshoot the issue, please confirm with me about the following questions. 1. How many sites in the AD? 2. Whether there is a site which have no existed Domain Controller on the container? According to my test, the issue may occur if you have created another site which is no setup domain controller available in the container. To check how many sites currently have, please follow below steps on a Domain controller. 1. Run DSSite.msc to open Active Directory Sites and Service. 2. Expand sites to check if you have other sites except Default-first-site-Name. 3. If yes, expand the sitename, to check if there is Server container, which may include an server( in fact, there is such server existed in your AD). 4 if yes, please delete the site and try export-mailbox again. Thanks, Jason
