External meeting invite not forwarded to delegate of mailbox
Hi All,I'm having a big meeting inviteissue on our new exchange 2007 enviroment. When we receive a external meeting invite, the meeting invite is not forwarded to the delegate on the recipients mailbox. The recipient has the delegate set to receive the meeting for him/her. The recipient itself doesnt want to receive the meeting invite. So the delegation is set as followed: Deliver meeting requests addressed to me and responses to meeting request where I am the organizer to : My Delegates only When we remove the delegate or change the delegation setting to My delegates and Me the meeting invite is delivered to the recipient but the delegate still doesnt receive the invite. Internally sent invites work. The sending email server is a exchange 2003. We have reset the delegation but this did not work. By searching the Internet I found this. http://forums.msexchange.org/m_1800509618/mpage_1/key_/tm.htm#1800511004 According to this forum security rollup 7 helps to solve the issue. But after reading the MS paper this does not solve any delegation issues. Does anyone have an idea?

I would rather try creating new OL profile for both users and check if any OL rules causing this issue. and finally i would move the delegates mailbox to different store and testVinod |CCNA|MCSE 2003 +Messaging|MCTS|ITIL V3|

Hi Vinod,We allready recreated the Outlook profile. This didnt help. The strange thing is that it only happens when a meeting request is send fromthe sendersdelegate. When the sender itself sends the a meeting request is being deliverd.

Hi, I would like to explain that Exchange 2007 Service Pack 1 Rollup 7 has fixed a delegate issue. For your reference: The value in the "Messages queued for submission" performance counter on the mailbox role of Exchange Server 2007 increases after a meeting request is delivered http://support.microsoft.com/kb/953094/en-us ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Mike Shen TechNet Subscriber Support in forum If you have any feedback on our support, please contact tngfb @ microsoft.com ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Hi Mike,We did some more trouble shooting with MS on the issue. After enabling the high logging of the rule processing the following error occurred in the event log on the exchange.Event Type: Warning Event Source: MSExchange Store Driver Event Category: MSExchangeStoreDriver Event ID: 1016 Date: 11/18/2009 Time: 3:50:58 PM User: N/A Computer: Mailservername Description: The sender for event 72170514 mailbox 9xxxxxx-0add-4xxxxx-93e0-0a8xxxxx MDB 5xxxxxa-42c6-4939-afxxxxxxx2ea4 is invalid. The event will be ignored.MS concluded that this is a internal known bug that is solved in rollup 7 as you mentioned. Ms comments in the bug: From previous similar issues, found that the email address that we are passing is "MAILTO:Delegate@whatever.com", When it tries to validate this address, it thinks that MAILTO is part of the address and then it sees a colon and this causes the Hub Transport server to generate an error. MS advised us to install rollup 9 to solve the issue. We will install rollup 9 next week. I will post back if the issue is solved or not after Appling the rollup.
