Extract mailbox email
Hi,
Problem: IT has deleted the User from AD, leaving the Mailbox intact in Exchange.
Question: How do I extract the mailbox and convert it to PST, since the user account has been deleted in AD?

What version of Exchange? You can create a temporary user, attach the disconnected mailbox to the temp user account, and then extract the data. You can exctact the data with Outlook or depending on your version of Exchange you can use built
in tools.

On Exchange 2003.
When I right click the Mailbox, it does not have any option to attach the mailbox back to a temp user...
Any other idea?

Great suggestions from the others and they should serve you well, however, if you have issues making this work and would like to extract the mailbox from an offline copy of the database check out Lucid8's DigiScope
http://www.lucid8.com/product/digiscope.asp since it does not depend upon Active Directory and can open up any version of Exchange Database i.e. 2010, 2007, 2003, 2000 or 5.5. and then allow
you to search, browse, export or recover mailboxes and individual messing items of all types.Troy Werelius
