Failed to Activate Trial Version of MS Vision 2013 (Professional)
Hi, I have been trying for hours to activate a trial version of MS Visio on my PC. I have Windows 8.1 and the University version of Office 365. The product downloaded and installed properly, but when I put in the e-mail associated with the product it gives me an error message (see screenshot below). The e-mail address associated with the product is an "@icloud.com" e-mail so I wonder if this has anything to do with it? I tried to create a new alias and use a different e-mail and that didn't work either. Or, if I need to contact a University administrator to help? I bought this version of MS Office at Best Buy, so I don't know who I need to contact or how to get around this error. What is it about the University version that seems to create problems when trying to install new programs? I had a similar issue when I bought MS Project although it wouldn't install and with Visio it is fully installed, but I just can't activate it. Thanks for your advice and time.

I can't seem to upload the screenshot I wanted but the error message that comes up says "The products we found in your account cannot be used to activate Visio"

Hi,

According to your description, let me explain this scenario:

If we have installed Office 365 University version, we have signed in Office with a Microsoft account. This account has an Office 365 subscription, but it not includes the Visio 2013, thus, we get the error message:"The products we found in your account cannot be used to activate Visio".

To workaround the issue, we don't activate the product using your account credentials. Please enter your product key manually to activate Visio 2013 copy.

Open Control Panel and click on Programs and Features icon >Right Click on Microsoft Visio
 >Enter a Product Key > Type your 25-characters product key and click on Continue button.

Hope it's helpful.

Hi, thank you very much this information is very helpful. I was able to navigate through all the steps that you described however now when I enter the product key it is saying "the product key is not valid." I have quadruple checked that there are no typos, so I'm not sure how to proceed. My other Office programs like word, ppt, and excel are all running fine and I went through the whole setup process when I first installed the software without any problems. Does this have to do with it being a University version? What would you suggest? Thanks again.

Hi,

Have you installed the Visio trial version before? If yes, we can only use trial version once in the same pc.

If no, your trial key is not valid. Please re-create a new Microsoft account and get a new trial key from this site.
