Failure to Install Exchange Management Tools
We are trying to instal Exchaneg 2010 SP1 Management Tools on a Windows 7 x64 laptop. We have installed the prerequisites as necessary, but we keep getting this error during the install:
Error:
The following error was generated when "$error.Clear();
if($RoleInstallWindowsComponents){# Install any Windows Roles or Features required for the Management Tools role Install-WindowsComponent
-shortNameForRole "AdminTools" -ADToolsNeeded $RoleADToolsNeeded}" was run: "The system cannot find the file specified".
Any ideas?

Hi,
Please double check the information below:
system prerequisites:
Open Control Panel, and then select Programs. Click Turn Windows features on or off. Select Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1. Navigate to Internet Information Services > Web Management Tools >
IIS 6 Management Compatibility. Select the check box for IIS 6 Management Console, and then click
OK.
Hotfix:
FIX: An application that is based on the Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 2 and that invokes a Web service call asynchronously
throws an exception on a computer that is running Windows 7.
An ASP.NET 2.0 hotfix rollup package is available for Windows 7 and for Windows Server 2008 R2.
After that, please reboot the computer and then check the issue again.
Besides, please try to check event log and then post the related error event information here.
Please check exchangesetuplog and then post the error part here.

the issue was that the prerequisites were already installed and the user had selected the option at the bottom to automatically install the prerequisites during the Exchange install. In my opinion, this is a bug. If the prerequisites were already installed,
then the Exchange setup program should detect that and just move on. It does not do this and instead it fails.
