Federation Gateway & Outlook 2003
Background: Two companies with AD 2003 (2008 next year) and Exchange 2010. Domain trusts have been set up. Federated trust has been set up on one side and the other side will have it set up soon. The Outlook client software is 2003. We'll be upgrading to 2010 early next year. Right now we're just interested in seeing free/busy information, nothing more. I've been trying to find information on how the Outlook 2003 clients will work with this federated trust. So far I've found pretty much nothing on the subject. I presume it's not going to be as good as Outlook 2010 but how would you select a user from the other company for seeing their free/busy info? Will an extra tool be required? I suppose using OWA 2010 could be a stop-gap solution (to run along side Outlook 2003) until the Outlook 2010 roll out.
