File In use not apprearing

Hi,

I have a shared folder in a File share sever and given Everyone read and & Change privilege. On the NTFS i have given modify privilege to users. All my clients are windows 8.1. When a one  user open a Excel , word or any office file the same file can be open and edit by the other user. it doesn't prompt "File in use" message. This is big issue for me as some users are complaining their updates are missing some files are not saved. how to resolve this issue?
