Finding duplicate SMTP addresses using LDP.exe
Hi,I am trying to find a way to find a number of duplicate proxy addresses in AD. I have read many forums that point towards using ldp.exe.My question is, how do I find multiple duplicate proxy addresses using this tool?I hope someone can help me out as I have spent the past two days tearing my hair out, as I try to manipulate an ldifde export that has over 200000 rows in it!!!If this can't be done using this tool, then surely there is one out there that can perform this task? Thanks in advanceRgdsLee

Are you finding any perticuler smtp address? If so, you can take a look at below article... Finding Duplicate SMTP Addresses http://www.msexchange.org/articles/Finding-Duplicate-SMTP-Addresses.html But if you are searching for wildcard duplicate smtp address then what's the reason behind it? Exchange detects the proxy address if it is already exists while creating recipients so you have zero chances to have duplicate smtp address in organization unless some corrupted objects are there in AD...Amit Tank | MVP Exchange Server | MCITP: EMA | MCSA: M | http://ExchangeShare.WordPress.com

Hi Amit,We have a connector to a Novell directory which holds student records (Not under my teams control!) and sync's with AD to create contacts, which went terribly wrong last week. We thought that we had cleaned them all up (no 9514 errors.) However we have been finding that the 9514 errors seem to only appear when a user tries to send to a user with a duplicate address. I am currently wading through a very large ldifde export in excel (200000 rows!) to find the duplicate values and wondered if ther was a tool that could scan AD and find only duplicate addresses. I had heard of users using a dupsmtp.vbs script, but I can't seem to get hold of it. Other users had mentioned ADFind or LDP.exe to find duplicate addresses, but no-one has mentioned finding multiple duplicate addresses. On the positive side we do believe there are no more than 100 hundred duplicates. The connector has been turned off by the way.I hope this explains the situation a bit better.RgdsLee

I guess you may get it or something similar by calling to Microsoft PSS...Amit Tank | MVP Exchange Server | MCITP: EMA | MCSA: M | http://ExchangeShare.WordPress.com
