Forwarded emails to exclude the client's personal emails
Hi all, Basically, We have a client that has left our company, and I've set up his emails to be forwarded to certain other members within our company. But the client that has left the company has managed to set up his outlook to accept emails coming in from his personal email address (messages from facebook etc) and obviously, we're not interested in his Facebook emails. I was wondering if it was possible to get ride of his personal email address from his outlook, or will he have to do it from his side (i.e. from his personal email account) At the moment, I've gone through the client emails and added a couple of email-addresses to the block senders, therefore ending up in his junk-emails. Will this therefore, the emails that I've block be automatically forwarded to the other clients in our company? (which I do not want) Many thanks Ben

Not really much you can do about this - if the messages are being forwarded from a personal email address then only he can stop that. If he has entered his work email address in to Facebook as his contact address then that is his own stupid fault. The only option you have as the server admin is to remove the SMTP address from the account, which will mean any external email will bounce with user unknown. So emails that are being sent in the junk mail are going still be forwarded the other clients? Thanks Ben.

If the forward has been set at the server level then yes, the forward will take place before the message gets filtered. Message Tracking will confirm that for you though. Simon.Simon Butler, Exchange MVP Blog | Exchange Resources | In the UK? Hire Me.

It has been set on Outlook. I've done it now anyway, where I've simply created a rule within his Outlook that allows only emails sent to his company address to be forwarded to other clients and not the personal address. Thanks anyway, Ben.
